The 2026 Medical Training Survey (MTS) is now open and will remain available until 8 October 2026.

If you're a doctor in training, this is an important opportunity to share your experiences and provide feedback on your training. The survey plays a key role in identifying strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement across Australia's medical training system. Findings are used by specialist colleges, training providers, employers, health services, and regulators to help inform positive change and enhance the training experience for current and future trainees.

This year, participation is more accessible than ever, with eligible doctors in training able to access the survey through their Ahpra portal, making the process straightforward and convenient.

Importantly, organisations across the medical education and training sector are increasingly demonstrating how feedback from previous surveys has been used to drive meaningful improvements. This helps ensure trainees can see the impact of their contributions and the value of sharing their experiences.

If you are eligible, keep an eye on your Ahpra portal and take the opportunity to complete the survey before 8 October 2026. Every response contributes to a better understanding of the experiences of doctors in training and supports ongoing improvements across the medical training pathway.
