Drs4Drs Reflections on CrazySocks4Docs Day 2024

Last week Friday, 7 June, marked the annual CrazySocks4Docs Day. Doctors, healthcare workers and many more wore their craziest socks to raise awareness of mental health in the healthcare sector.

CrazySocks4Docs Day (CS4D Day) is an important reminder to break the stigma and reach out for support when needed, not only on 7 June, but all year around. At the recently held Drs4Drs morning tea in honour of CS4D Day, AMA president Prof Steve Robson shared a heart-felt speech with AMA staff about the significance of this day. Prof Robson had published a very personal article in The Australian, reflecting on his own struggles that many in the medical profession may be able to relate to.

Drs4Drs also encourages you to familiarise yourself with Every Doctor Every Setting (EDES), a national framework to guide co-ordinated action on mental health and wellbeing of doctors and medical students across Australia. Access the EDES Framework here.

And please remember, Drs4Drs is here for you. Doctors Health Services Pty Ltd (Drs4Drs) is a national not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting doctors and medical students to care for themselves, their colleagues, and their patients. Established by the medical profession for the medical profession.
