Appointment of Research Partner

Published 13 March 2026

In late 2025, we invited Expressions of Interest from research institutions, seeking an independent research partner to undertake a national evaluation of doctors’ health services in Australia.

Following a competitive application process, we are pleased to announce that the Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI) at Macquarie University has been appointed as the research partner for this important work.

The study will be led by Professor Yvonne Zurynski and her team, who bring extensive expertise in the evaluation of health and wellbeing support services. Past partners and collaborations include:

  • The Black Dog Institute
  • The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care
  • The Australian Department of Health
  • St Vincent’s Health Australia

Drawing on its extensive experience in healthcare reform and systems improvement across 152 countries, AIHI is well positioned to lead this national research project.

Drs4Drs is excited to see this research project mature and the impact its findings will have on strengthening the existing doctors’ health services.

We would like to acknowledge the Medical Board of Australia/ Ahpra for providing funding to this important research on doctors’ health.
