Drs4Drs ACT Connect Dinner - 29th July

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the recent Drs4Drs ACT Connect Dinner. It was wonderful to see doctors from across the ACT come together for an evening of connection, conversation and collegial support.

Events like these provide an opportunity to strengthen professional relationships, build support networks, and promote doctor wellbeing within our medical community. We were delighted to welcome Rachel Stephen-Smith MLA, ACT Deputy Chief Minister, who highlighted the importance of ensuring doctors can access care when they need it.

“When our doctors are healthy, supported and able to access care without stigma, they are better equipped to provide high-quality care to the people of Canberra.”

Drs4Drs ACT is grateful for the ACT Government’s support of doctors' health and wellbeing initiatives, and we acknowledge the advocacy of Dr Kerrie Aust, former AMA ACT President and Drs4Drs volunteer, in helping secure funding for this vital service.

A special thank you to Dr Marisa Magiros, Medical Director of Drs4Drs ACT, Pamela Spoors, Executive Director of Drs4Drs, Helen Blencowe, Drs4Drs Program Manager, Dr Betty Xiaoting Ge, AMA ACT President, and Drs4Drs Board Directors A/Prof Antonio Di Dio and Dr Iain Dunlop for attending and contributing to a wonderful evening of connection and support.

We would also like to thank the team at The Australian National University Food Co-op for hosting the event and providing a fantastic venue for the evening.

What attendees said

“Our latest Drs4Drs ACT Connect evening was an excellent opportunity for ACT doctors to come together in a supportive, collegial environment beyond the pressures of clinical work. The conversations were refreshing, the connections meaningful, and the atmosphere warm and inclusive. It’s exactly the kind of gathering that reinforces wellbeing and community within our profession. I strongly recommend attending future sessions.”

Looking Ahead

Drs4Drs ACT looks forward to continuing to provide opportunities for doctors to connect, build supportive professional networks, and engage with colleagues in a welcoming environment.
