Advancing Women in Healthcare Leadership (AWHL) is a Monash University-led, 26+ partner, large-scale national research, implementation and impact initiative.

They have found, despite making up 75% of the Australian healthcare workforce women are consistently underrepresented in healthcare leadership. Gender equity in healthcare leadership is a key step towards eliminating healthcare disparities and improving quality of care. AWHL know that it leads to improved and more equitable healthcare outcomes for patients. AWHL know that it leads to a more empowered workforce, reduced attrition, improved organisational performance, and improved quality of care.
