Surviving in Scrubs

The unique dynamics of the healthcare environment, including close physical proximity and clear power dynamics, often increase the risk of harassment in the workplace. Despite this problem being apparent for years, recent incidents and research highlight that not enough is done to protect especially female healthcare workers.

A 2021 survey from the BMA reported that 91% of female doctors had experienced sexism in the last 2 years and 47% felt they had been treated less favourably due to their gender.

Surviving in Scrubs was started by Dr Becky Cox and Dr Chelcie Jewitt, two UK-based female doctors who are on a mission to raise awareness about sexism and sexual assault in healthcare.
